"Santa (please) Stop" at our house
Santa has already made a visit to our house today!!! Since we moved to the new neighborhood (Spring Gate Estates) we noticed a "Santa Stop" sign popped up on the corner of our yard a couple of weeks ago. Of course being new to the neighborhood, we were both wondering what in the world??? Well we found out this afternoon.....we start hearing a siren and then all the neighborhood kids start congregating on the corner of our yard and we realize Santa is about to make a stop right in front of our house and sure enough the siren gets REALLY loud and here comes Santa, not on his reindeer, but strapped to the front of the big yellow fire truck.
The kids are going nuts cause he passing out candy and parents are taking pictures like crazy...and then there is the one girl that starts screaming, "Santa was my softball coach last year!!!" And then the parents of the little ones are having to scramble telling that he is one of Santa's helpers since Santa himself is awfully busy today getting ready to visit all the good little boys and girls.
It was fun blessing seeing the joy in all those kids that still believe in Santa like we do!!
We want to wish all our family and friends a very Merry Christmas!!!

1st Christmas Party
Friday nite was our first Christmas party in our new house....our Sunday School class went to eat Lloyds (famous for the great hamburger steak) and then back to our house for dessert and a little Wii play, which actually turned into ALOT of Wii play-LOL!!!
It is amazing what a little competition will do for everyone - not sure why I didn't break my camera out for this, probably because I was laughing too hard to hold it steady for pics.
Here is a run down of the TOP FIVE things that happened...
1) Martha and April nearly punched our TV out boxing, the more they boxed the closer they got
2) Misty and Shelli can't stand for the other to be better at something
3) EVERYBODY had fun trying to do the "TREE" yoga pose
4) The younger you are (Paige, Mylie and Kyle) the better you are at everything
And last but not least of all...
5) Luckie definitely won the style contest in hula-hooping...can I just say "BOW-CHICKA-WOW-WOW!!! if only we had a video camera LOL
All in all we had a great time and definitely need to plan more Wii time!!!

Finally....done with decorating
Well we started decorating for Christmas last week (after Thanksgiving of course) and here we are one week later and have just finished up. Now it wasn't because we didn't want to, I wanted it done last Sunday, but the weather just wasn't cooperative with all the rain we got and David has some serious issues getting on the roof, I didn't think it would be smart to make him get on it while it was wet. :P
Today we finally got the chance to finish the outside by hanging the wreaths on our 2nd story windows, but I hope no inspectors come by cause I have got some serious extension cord tangles going on. Why don't they make the cords longer, how many houses have an outlet 6 inches from a window, I mean come on, would hurt to have the cord maybe 12" or 14" long??? You can always hide it if it is too long, but it is hard to make it inconspicuous when you have to add a 15 extension cord. I have extension cords plugged into extension cords that are plugged into more extension cords, and luckily haven't blown a fuse, YET!!! My power bill is probably going to be sky high this month.
Anyway here are some pics of our decorations inside and out....and yes I know we have the perfect yard for the big blow-ups of Santa and Frosty, but it ain't gonna happen...well except maybe for the Reindeer barn or maybe Santa in a helicopter on top of our garage....no, I really am kidding mom, no big blow-ups at the Carson house.

Why is it???
Why is it when you plug up Christmas lights before you start to string them on anything they work just fine, BUT once you have them strung and you plug them in half the strand isn't lit up??? I mean seriously how is that possible to work fine one minute and not the next???
After a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at the Golden Corral (we don't eat with anyone but us) we start pulling decorations out. This year we have a new house, so we were waiting till after Christmas to buy a new tree, but came across a great priced UN-LIT (what was I thinking??) 9ft tree and I had the brilliant idea of why don't we just string the lights ourselves and leave them on when we take it down. Though we did come out much cheaper going the old fashioned way, in hindsight I should have waited till the pre-lits went on sale Dec. 26th!!! And after what seemed like an eternity we have the lights strung and have started hanging ornaments, the bottom 2, yes 2 (brand new) strands are bad-what are the chances of that happening??? So we went again this morning to swap the bad lights for new, get them strung, get the garland up, plug it in and you guessed half of the dang strand is out, luckily I just had to replace a bulb cause if that hadn't worked you would have heard about it on the news..."House demolished due to crazy woman tearing down Christmas decorations".
All in all though we have almost finished, just have the outside left and please say a prayer cause my hubby has to get on the roof and believe me when I say he is NOT looking forward to it!!
Oh and to all my Auburn friends, WAR EAGLE always!!! We will come back stronger than ever next year (hopefully)!!! And to all my BAMA friends....please ROLL the TIDE over the Gators next week!!!

New Garage Doors
< These were the garage doors when I left on Wed. headed to Montgomery. I got back this afternoon and saw these new garage doors for the first time... > GORGEOUS don't you think?? I am so incredibly pleased with them, hopefully they don't make the rest of the outside look too bad....
BUT there is the issue of trying to fit the cars in so there will
be some rearranging going on tomorrow, seeing as a sheet of
paper won't fit between my car and the frig!! The main thing is that we can get the car inside just in time to avoid this extremely cold weather we seemed to have found about 2 months too early!!!
Just to let everyone know, my dad is back home doing fine-thanks for the prayers!!

First time for everything...
Okay, so there is a first time for everything.....first step, first time riding a bike with no training wheels, first kiss...you get my drift...so this my first time blogging.
Many of my friends have blogs about their families and I thought, "Why not me?" Just because we don't have kids, doesn't mean we don't have things going on that aren't noteworthy or should I say "blogworthy"??
Everybody knows we recently bought a new house and unless you build or happen upon a newly built house you probably bought what I like to call a "pre-loved home". Well that is what we did and just FYI, do good research when buying a home in foreclosure, yes the prices are low, but the work to do is much as we have found out from our experience. We have showered tons of TLC on our new house because the previous owners sure didn't, so much has been done in the 3 months we have become the official owners-NEW paint, new countertops, flooring and appliances in the kitchen, new furniture and the newest of all, garage doors. Yes we finally got our new garage doors installed late yesterday afternoon-WOOHOO!!! What a treat to be able to push a button and pull in, no more scraping my windshield on cold mornings!!! Many years I have waited to be able to pull into a garage and I am still waiting ....see my dad had to go to UAB yesterday for some minor surgery and I came to stay with my sis, Annaeke...but as soon as he gets home tomorrow, I am off....back to Alabaster and my new garage doors. How crazy is it that I am loving on garage doors??!! Well considering it is my "first time" to have them...
So how was that for a "first time"??? Informative and captivating enough for you to come back and read more later, I hope anyway...
